We are proud to introduce a new sub-genre to retrowave — welcome to Vikingwave. New single “Viking 2084” is a collaborative effort produced by darkwave duo Irving Force and Strontium Cop. “Viking 2084” is an energetic aggrotech-remix based on Draugablíkk’s popular song “Serpents in the Mist” — and is the first of its kind. The fresh track is based on ancient Norse/Viking folk music, and even includes a live recorded horse-hair lyre instrument from the Viking Age known as “talharpa.” We’re excited to find out if folk and electronica fans around the world are ready for something… neo-ancient.
